Our regular Sunday morning service begins at 10.30am:
- Holy Communion normally 4th Sunday of the month
- More traditional service on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 10.30am
- Messy Church on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 4.00pm
- Occasional All-Age services
- Baptism / Dedication / Confirmation services (part of regular Sunday service)
- Discoverers Group for Pre and Primary School age children
- Youth Group for Secondary School age children
- Toys and play area for pre-school children / babies
For those unable to attend church in-person there is a live stream from St Barnabas or from our sister church St Paul’s Holgate.
Discoverers Group for Pre and Primary School age children
The Discoverers group meets weekly in the vestry in church, apart from special and All Age services.
As the Discoverers group is open to a younger demographic and children with a variety of needs, parents often choose to stay with their child, but this is not mandatory as our leaders have undertaken all of the necessary safeguarding checks and training. Everyone is very supportive and the sessions are diverse enough so everyone is able to contribute and enjoy themselves.
The sessions are based on the lectionary through the Roots material, incorporating prayer, Bible story, games, craft and occasionally singing.
We tell the children about Jesus and stories from the Bible – both Old and New Testament. We hope that the small seeds of faith sown will grow in the lives of the children as they learn more about Jesus. The children are also encouraged to ask questions, which are sometimes very interesting and thought provoking.
Youth Group for Secondary School age children
We are a small group of secondary age young people, years 7 to 13, meeting every Sunday during the morning service. We study the bible through a mixture of arts and crafts, activities and discussion eating lots of snacks and chocolate along the way. New members very welcome!
